‘Triple Vision’ 25.03.25 featuring MLD (Dilate) Q&A

Leroy Moeller AKA LMD is one of the heads behind the Dilate collective, a crew dedicated to championing underground techno artists who inhabit the atmospheric, hypnotic, and percussive realms of the audio landscape. As both a DJ and promoter, LMD has played a central role locally in curating forward-thinking events that push sonic boundaries & foster a deep connection between music and movement.

As an artist in his own right, LMD's sound delves into the deeper avenues of house, techno, ambient, experimental, and left-field genres. Swirling atmospheres, drones, rhythmic percussion, and otherworldly sound design elements are central to his ever-evolving sonic identity.

Q&A with LMD

Q1. From the selections you've compiled for this mix are there any artists or labels that are current favourites?

A: I draw big inspiration from the dub/ambient/experimental side of electronic music so for me a current favourite would have to be Astral Industries run by Ario over in the UK. A handful of my favourite artists have given a piece of themselves to that label such as LF58, Sa Pa, Multicast Dynamics, Marco Shuttle… There is so much great stuff out there though, the list could go on.

Q2. What has been the vision for the Dilate series you co-run? Are there any events or collectivites locally/globally that you've been able to draw inspiration from?

A: Dilate has been a platform for Marcus and I to bring out artists we’d love to see here in our city, who have inspired us or whom we’ve looked up to in one way or another. The artists we’re into tend to be on the niche side so it’s just nice to have opportunities to bring and welcome them here. For me sound wise, I've drawn inspiration from events such as Parallel or Mostra in Spain and style wise would have to be the way small parties are done in Japan. Dark rooms, minimal decor and good sound. Keeping things simple.

Dilate’s next event in April

Q3.What is on your horizon for this year, creatively or otherwise?

A: This year I’m preparing for a move to Europe, Immerse myself in lots of good music, be with friends and family and work toward getting some music finished. I think there is a lot to be inspired by over there and being in a fresh environment with fresh faces will be motivating for me.

Q4. What's something within a community you're a part of that you'd like people to know about?

A: Keep supporting your local artists and small crews doing cool shit.
