Joining ‘Triple Vision’ this month on for a dubwise-soaked guest mix is local selector & party curation Della, one of the minds behind the collective Upstairs//Downstairs collective. We caught up with Adam to chat about all things new & inspiring music, sound system culture & upcoming projects.

Q&A with Della:
Lava Brain: What sounds have you pulled together for the listeners this month for your guest mix? Any included artists or labels that you're particularly digging at the moment?
Della: Hey Eric, Thanks for having me on! I’ve put together a mix with a range of different sounds I’ve been loving at the moment. I’ve always been drawn to music that is dub inspired, this mix has definitely a lot of inspiration from that, lots of drums too! Really been digging my polyrhythmic sounds! Artists such as Sub Basics have really been making some inspiring tunes as of lately, I’ve put one of his tracks ‘ Bunker’ in the mix, from one of his recent albums on his label ‘Temple of Sound’ - That track particularly is probably everything I love in a tune -Deep, Dubby & Hypnotic! Definitely a brain scrubber!
Lava Brain: As a purveyor & enthusiast for low frequency sounds, how do you see sound system culture standing out from the rest of the music scene?
Della: I think what makes sound system culture stand out from the rest of the scene, is that it really eliminates the concept of the ‘Headliner DJ’ and the sound system itself is more focused as the headliner. The people who build the sound system, put years of hard work & love into it, and always down for the community to come experience the sound system & party, no matter what, which is why you see so many sound system events that are free!
Lava Brain: What do you have coming up for the rest of the year? Any events, DJ gigs or travel plans you can share?
Della: I’ve got a couple gigs at the end of the year, which should be exciting, and couple of international shows that I’m hosting with my crew ‘ Upstairs//Downstairs, which I’m really looking forward to! So will be a nice way to wrap up the year
Lava Brain: What's something within a community you're a part of that you'd like people to know about?
Della: I would have to say, Me and Nate’s project ‘Upstairs//Downstairs’ is something I’m most of proud of, Been very fortunate to host some really talented artists over the years, as well as meeting some really good people over the journey :)
